Been here all the time!  :) Mostly lurking in the shadows and trying to keep my head down and nose to the grind stone. You know with hunting season starting, I would be back with all my stories of how I can miss deer all the time!  ;D ;D ;D

Well it ain't gonna be any fun for us if you fess up to it up front that you're going to be missing the deer.  :tickedoff   How are we supposed to make fun of you?

I was going to say that you've got to redeem yourself for all the misses last year, but apparently that's not going to happen.  ::)

 ;D ;D ;D

HA!  ;D ;D Well, the misses run in the Family! My boy missed with his bow on Sat. Nice 8pt at about 18 yards! It was the 1st deer he has drawn on since he bought his bow. He got the shakes and missed low! Guess it happens to everybody. He has not missed with the rifle since he was 12, so it is eating at him. I told him that was Bow hunting. He said it was such a rush that he might not pickup the rifle all year!

When I missed that doe Saturday morning, I was dumbfounded!  :?   I thought, "WTF!!!"  I couldn't figure it out.  Then after the buck showed up and I shot, I was still shaking an hour later.  ;D   Around 4:00 or so, when I was glassing him and I saw just how big he was, the shakes started all over again!  ;D

If I ever quit getting the shakes like that after a shot, I'll know it's time to quit hunting.  O0

Yea, anybody that dont get the shakes is either Dead or a big liar! I dont get them while shooting, Mine come on after it is over. The last 3 or 4 that I have taken have got to me so bad that I have to wait a good bit before going to get it.  I hope I never get to the point that taking a deer becomes routine.

??? I've never had the shakes while hunting, even though many folks do. I've had plenty of excitement on some hunts, but not the shakes.

It's basically from an adrenaline dump in your system.  It's a high like no other.  ;)

Everyone will miss or lose an animal eventually.(some more than others ) That's Hunting! I'm like J-Bucks, I don't get the shakes til after the shot then it's a full blown adrenaline rush. Sometimes so bad I have a hard time climbing down from my stand. Buck or Doe, the feeling is always the same high that no drug can ever duplicate. I love to see every ones pics and hearing the stories that go with them. In fact , I've shown the pics of BC's deer to several of my hunting buddy's to enjoy. I'll do a little bragging for ya BC, because that is one hell of a deer  O0

Thanks man!  O0   I'm tickled to death with him!

If I've got a deer taking it's time coming in, I'll get the shakes waiting on them because I know as soon as they get where I can shoot, I am!!  Once I put the gun/bow up though, I'm not shaking and am on autopilot.  After the shot though and it's a full blown adrenaline dump, I shake HARD!!  ;D   That buck Saturday, when I shot I knew it was a buck, but didn't know just how good he was.  An hour later when I went to get my arrow and start blood trailing, I was still shaking.  ;D ;D   After the 3+ hour wait and I started back in, I had calmed down and quit shaking.  When I spotted him bedded through the binos and could start to pick out bits & pieces of his rack and saw how big it was, the shakes started all over again! You should know that Chuck Norris doesn't allow people to get the shakes. See it does not happen again. Also remember.....Chuck Norris doesn't go hunting. Chuck Norris goes killing!

When I was younger, I would get the shakes so bad after the shot that on a couple of occasions I actually BARFED!
Then I started racing!
I raced about anything that had wheels, Dirt Track, Motor Bikes, finally IHRA/NHRA Drag Racing!
I had so many close calls, that I don't get the Adrenalin rushes anymore! Even when I broke an axle at 138 mph., and hit the concrete dividing wall!

I still like to hunt, sometimes I even shoot, but no more rush doing it!
Now it's just the methodical stalk, draw, release.....Hit or Miss, nothing more,  but it still makes me happy to be able to get out and enjoy Mother Earth!
Every Day above Ground is a good one!
