AUGUSTA -- The public will get a chance to weigh in on Sunday hunting when a legislative committee considers the proposal this Thursday as part of Gov. John Baldacci's budget.

Baldacci is proposing to allow Sunday hunting for nearly all species in season. The exception would be during the November firearm season, when it would remain illegal to hunt deer on Sunday.

However, it would be legal to hunt deer on Sunday during the archery and muzzleloader seasons

Organizations on either side of the issue are ready for a fight......"

Is Sunday hunting allowed in your area?  Do you think it should or shouldn't be?

It is legal to hunt here (oklahoma) on ANY day during season. It is typical for people here to go to church w/ camo on..LOL. And you have no idea how many deer i get in on thanksgiving.

Ahh, the good life......where your camo and dirt scent are your suit and perfume/cologne.  :D

In Kansas, the hunting is 7 days a week as well, though, as a general rule, I spend the day with family.

Here in NY, you can hunt any day you want. Except for crow. You can only hunt crow on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.... Which is pretty stupid.

The no hunting on Sunday has to be the dumbest :D law I have heard of, along with those weekday no hunting crow days. Some folks have only Sunday to hunt because of their schedules.

Here in Tennessee or " GODS COUNTRY " as I like to call it we are allowed to hunt seven days a week , thats what the books say anyway. The wife says  something entirely different , like " you better get your sorry #@* back here early Sunday I got plenty for you to do around the house.  :-[ :'(

bare_trax, you can't outfox wives! If I got my wife all likkered up and she was going to pass out, she would probably go out to my truck and pass out behing the driver's wheel. My luck too, all my buddies would probably already be out hunting and I would have to stay home, outfoxed  :twisted:again! :-[  :'(

ive got no reason to complain. my wife is awesome when it comes time to hunt. i think the trick is is to be a real butt, and then she doesnt WANT you around. just kidding. she just knows that when it is hunting season, she wont see me on saturdays. she is cool with all that. when it came time to remodel, she just said have at er. so..... my kitchen is pine planking with 2 pheasents, a wood duck, and a mallard mount(still waiting on the taxidermist on the mallard) there are pictures of ducks all over, and ducks stenciled on the cabinet doors. there are 2 old decoys on the shelf over the kitchen table, and a pic of my daughter, cassie, and i in a duck blind. the pics of the kids with their 1st fish adorn the wall as you walk into the livingroom. mossy oak paneling decorates the coat room. the guest bedroom is complete with an elk hide on the wall, along with big photo collages of my hunting trips. there are 2 steel plate bears hangin on the wall, one holding a pic of Cassie and Hunter in full camo, pulling back bows, and the other one holds my 44 Navy revolver on a hook. over that hangs my old pump action marlin 22. and in the basement, in the main room, where i sit at the computer now, i am surrounded by 3 gun racks full of guns, 2 bows on hangers, 3 bulletin boards with hunting pics on them, and all kinds of books and videos about hunting to my left and right. AND SHES COOL WITH IT!Like i said, i cant complain.

bare_trax, I know what you mean. On a regular basis, one of us will be out somewhere and when we decide to call, the other will just start thinking about the other, regardless of what they're doing. It's to the point now htat when she's gone and I start thinking about her, I'll go get the phone and sure enough, she's callin. There is no escape... resistance is futile.  ???
