Title: GM 5.3 max motor ? Maybe the V6? I need a truck
Post by: D45/70 on July 26, 2017, 05:21:57 PM
Anyone with GOOD information on this ?
It goes from V8 to V4 under very light loads .
Rated at 23 MPH in a full sized Silverado
 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Fuel_Management (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Fuel_Management)

How about there v6 twin turbo with out this system?
Any good in a 1/2 ton 4x4 truck.
I have the boat that I do pull about 5 times a year and an airboat I will pull more often .
In the winter I pull a 2 place trailer for 4wheelers and or snowmobiles. I had a 94 Sububern for 19 and 300,000 miles with a plane Jane 350 that worked perfect BUT a deer eat it this spring. I think I want a 4 door truck this time.
PS
I'm talking used here around 2006 to 2013 ish

I don't know a whole lot about some of that stuff but get yourself a used Toyota Tundra. I am on my second Tundra and also had a new Toyota T-100. The T-100 was a V6 with lots of power for a V6. All are 4WD.

My boy has a Tacoma.
Tough   as nails for sure.
Out here a $20,000 full sized Toyota is a 2002 or older...
With 200,000 miles.

WELL !!!!!
 I got a Ford.
 2013 F150 5.0 V8 6 foot bed 4 doors and very RED!
Never had a red truck we'll se about that part...
45,000 miles and nice and clean.
Not very "Deluxe" XLT, but nicely equipped in my mind.

Yes a local used dealer.
They just got in a Bunch of used trucks from Canada.
They buy them up north with the exchange rate in our favor.
Hope it works out always a roll of the dice. There is still a year left on the factory warrantee too.

 Yeah on that, D! Some trucks seem to be deer magnets. It's sure a nice truck to pull your Waterbug with.

You going to let your wife drive that truck?

  ;D Spoken like a wife!

My wife has her own vehicle, leaves mine alone, period. She is convinced my truck is too big for her to handle. She is correct.  O0 NOBODY drives my truck other than myself.  :knuppel2

About V6 engines, they have plenty of power. The T100 I had came with a V6 and had power to spare.
