Butler Creek Varmint Combo
« on: May 17, 2009, 09:10:46 PM »
hey, im thinking about ordering the butler creek varmint combo from cabelas. I'd like to use it to hunt squirrels. Has anyone used or owned it before? Would you recommend it for squirrel hunting and if so what kind of ammunition do you shoot with it? Thanks

never shot or seen one, but the description says it's a 10/22. That's a Ruger model. I have no idea what they mean by "special" bore and groove ratios. I have shot numerous Ruger 10/22's and never seen one shoot outside the taughted 1/2 inch groups in that ad. In fact most will do much better. I'm thinking if they mucked with the original specs and came up with 1/2 inch groups at 50 yds, I'd get the real thing instead.
