Albany County, New York to Consider Registration Scheme on June 22!
Friday, June 19, 2009
Please Contact the Members of the Law Committee!

On Monday, June 22, the Albany County Law Committee will consider Local Law “A,”  which had previously been postponed at their last meeting.

Local Law “A” would require a valid firearms license be shown when purchasing ammunition in Albany County.  The law would also mandate that retailers keep a record of all ammunition sales, including the type, caliber, and quantity of the ammunition, the make, model and serial number of the firearm it is for, as well as the purchaser’s name and address.

Local Law “A” would also create a secondary method of gun registration for both long guns and handguns.  Congress has experimented with ammunition registration in the past, only to discover that it was not only ineffective for law enforcement, but completely unmanageable due to the sheer volume of transactions.  Ammunition registration creates huge and cumbersome record-keeping requirements and provides no useful benefits for law enforcement. That’s why it was repealed at the federal level by the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986.

Please contact the members of the Law Committee and the County Legislators IMMEDIATELY and voice your opposition to Local Law “A.”  Contact information for the members of the Law Committee can be found below.  County Legislators can be reached by phone at (518) 447-7168 or fax (518) 447-5695.  For more contact information, please visit

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

New York, Mass. and California are not going to be happy until they find away around the Supreme Courts ruling saying that gun ownership was an individual right, and outlaw by taxing, banning or requiring registration of ANYTHING remotely tied to a firearm.
To you gutless cowards and scumbags, who are trying to lie and rewrite history. To those out to commit genocide on the Southern people with your destruction of Confederate monuments and your attacks on Southern heritage and pride. Be happy for now. Because someday when that civil war you wanted starts. I will find you. And I will kill you.
