Good to see that not ALL of the senators will let her avoid the important questions. :knuppel2 :tickedoff

*****************************************************

Republicans didn't waste a moment today trying to focus on Sonia Sotomayor's views on affirmative action -- and her habit of dodging questions.

It's Day 4 of her confirmation hearing, a day likely to be remembered for the upcoming testimony of New Haven firefighter Frank Ricci. He was on the winning side of a Supreme Court race-discrimination ruling that overturned an appellate court decision in which Sotomayor participated.

Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., opened the questioning today by pressing Sotomayor on her claim that she was bound by precedent in ruling against the white firefighters. Sotomayor, who has danced around the question all week, started to review the facts of the case when Kyl interjected. "The question I asked was very simple," he said, apologizing for the interruption and reminding her of the question: What was the precedent by which she was bound?"

A few minutes later, he stopped her again: "Let me interrupt again, because you're not getting to the point of my question," Kyl said, adding that Sotomayor would never let a lawyer get away with indirect answers in her courtroom. He said Sotomayor would admonish an elusive lawyer by saying, "That's all fine and dandy, counsel, but you're not answering my question."

And on it went.

Hey Eric. Haven't seen your hide round these parts for a while. How've you been?

YEAH!  WHAT HE SAID! ;D ;D ;D  I saw your post and thought the same thing and saw KS already beat me to it.

I don't care for the woman at all! :tickedoff  My opinion of her is that she gives female dogs a bad name. >:(  Not to mention that she's uglier than sin!

She may have done some good in her time, but I think she's too biased, and tries to use past "precedent" to justify her bias.  Take for example the ruling that she did on the 2nd Amendment.....  The precedent that she cited stated that the 2nd Amendment didn't apply to the states.  What she failed to note however is that in that same past case, they said that the 14th Amendment didn't apply either.   The 14th Amendment provides a broad definition of citizenship, overruling the decision in Dred Scott v. Sandford (1857), which had excluded slaves, and their descendants, from possessing Constitutional rights.  The amendment's Equal Protection Clause requires states to provide equal protection under the law to all people within their jurisdictions.

How can someone say that the 14th Amendment applies to the states, but the 2nd Amendment doesn't? >:(

Other than the 2nd Amendment stuff, I think she's a racist!  But racist against white people. >:(  That's evident by her decision on the white firefighter's case. :tickedoff

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

Unless something major falls out of her closet. She's in.
To you gutless cowards and scumbags, who are trying to lie and rewrite history. To those out to commit genocide on the Southern people with your destruction of Confederate monuments and your attacks on Southern heritage and pride. Be happy for now. Because someday when that civil war you wanted starts. I will find you. And I will kill you.

yup they've had her in for some time already. I dont think she's fit to be a supreme court justice at all, because from what i see - she thinks she knows what's better for the citizens than the constitution. Thats not her job. She does it anyways.
