State land Prairie dogs who knew
« on: May 09, 2010, 12:04:39 PM »
 :D
Man I'm liking this being able to shoot dogs on state lands. It has been closed to hunting prairie dogs for years but now the law has expired and no plans to put it back on. The dogs are running rampant and no one knows it is open season. We tried another spot we knew there was a Town. This one is about two sections
( that is 2 sq miles) of state land.We blasted near 200 shells ( boy and I) and ran like a 35% hit wow. Not bad for sitting in the snow shooting off sticks  around 150/250 yards and a wind.
The day started with some fishing.

If we had known the fishing would be crappy and the weather was going to fall apart so bad we would have hit the P. dogs sooner in the day.We had more shells. It started to snow then got bad... when we left it was a fight to get back out to the County road.

Yep, it sure did look like a better day to shoot PDs, D45!
It's sad that your summer was so short.

The pics weren't to show the snow. All the little dark spots are Prairie dog mounds. There is thousands of them out there.
