Amtrak to let passengers bring guns on most trains

Reversing a near decade long ban, Amtrak will allow passengers to bring guns on most trains starting next month, including several that stop in Sacramento. The change, pushed by gun rights advocates and ordered by Congress, aligns Amtrak's firearms policy with air travel rules that allow unloaded guns to be stored in locked baggage holds.

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

Amtrak lifts ban on guns

Amtrak will let passengers transport unloaded guns on trains, reversing a ban in place since the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. The ban lifts on Dec. 15. Travelers can check firearms, including handguns, starter pistols, rifles and shotguns and up to 11 pounds of ammunition at any train station that offers checked baggage service and if the travelers' itinerary includes a train with a baggage car. Most big city train stations including New York, Boston, Chicago and Washington have checked baggage service.
