The .58 cal I've got only likes round balls.  It's got a really slow twist to the barrel.  Out of the Knight .54 cal inline though, I shoot the Barnes Expander bullets.  I hit a doe right under her chin a few years ago.  The exit hole was almost as big around as a Coke can, with blood, bone, and meat dripping off of everything around there!  Barnes says that they will mushroom to 2x their original diameter and retain 100% of their weight.  From what I've seen and read from other people, Barnes is right!
The only purpose of bread is to hold meat!

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

i to like roundballs but the in-line that i got last summer doesnt shoot them very well . I have been trying 250 grain shockwave sabots and am having good luck with them. Being disabled i have alot of time to spend at the range trying new things. I do cast my own roundballs.
