My Arkansas muzzle loader buck....
« on: October 31, 2011, 02:50:09 PM »
Got this 8-point on the last morning of Arkansas' 1st muzzle loader season. It was a hard week out in these mountains, but persistence finally paid off. He has a 17" inside spread and the tips are 17 4/8" apart.

It is okay to be a treehugger, as long as you are climbing up to your tree stand

He doesn't have much mass on the points, but you gotta love the tine length and the spread!  Congrats!!!  O0   That's a good looking deer.  I wouldn't pass it up!  :)

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

Thanks Big58cal. I wasn't passing this buck up whether he was a small 8-point or a big one. It was a public land buck, and if I hadn't put him in the freezer, someone else would have got him. I am going to get him aged when I go pick up my mount from last year.

To you gutless cowards and scumbags, who are trying to lie and rewrite history. To those out to commit genocide on the Southern people with your destruction of Confederate monuments and your attacks on Southern heritage and pride. Be happy for now. Because someday when that civil war you wanted starts. I will find you. And I will kill you.

Yeah, you should get at least 2-3 meals off him.  ::)

He has some good eatin' still have some in the freezer and he isn't to tough. The buck I killed last year was probably about a 4 1/2 year old.
