I am thinking about gettin some snow camo to hunt squirrels and predators in. We are at the peak of our snow season here in NY. Anyone have any good deals or know of anywhere I can get some? I would prefer it to be insulated.

Dude, I don't think yotes are color blind. Besides, they pick out movement more than anything. I might be wrong.

BC, didn't you have some kicka$$ winter camo you were selling? I remember seeing some winter camo for sale on here and it was so good, it took me a while to see the hunter, who was right in front of my nose.

Nope, wasn't me.  Check in the Gear section.  I think the guy that had the stuff posted the info in there.  I remember what you're talking about, but can't remember exactly where it was.

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

It really has little to do with color, from what I've gathered. They may or may not be colorblind, but they see shapes and outlines very well. That's why they say you should hunt yotes and such close to cover. The cover breaks up your outline and pattern, so the animal can't tell you from the cover. That's why I liked the winter camo posted on here so much. I'm not colorblind and even I couldn't see him for a while... and I was looking REALLY hard.

Why would you need  snow camo???Yotes are more tuned to sound and movement, not color, and plus I think they're color blind.

Being a cheapskate and having a house full of kids,I took a cheap way out.I went to wally world and bought a pair of white sweat pants, sweatshirt and a black magnum magic marker or two.I spread it all out on the kitchen table and commenced to draw what resembled branches and the odd spot here and there.(just remember there are no straight lines in nature)Looks pretty good, critters ain't art critics.Planned to just wear them over the insulated coveralls I already use.(Buy them extra big).I did this late season , then the 4x4 broke down and the farm sold,so I never really got a chance to try them out,but I'm confident they'll do what I need them to.Only drawbacks that I can foretell is they're not water proof and I don't know what will happen when they hit the washing machine.White or not ,I'll use cold water.Total cost about $25.
Another alternative would be to wear white plastic trash bags.Drawbacks being, not very durable and noisey as heck, but you sure can buy a bunch of them for the same $25.
