Dies

Being on a limited budget I tend to buy stuff accordingly.  I've got one "bitch" about the Sizer Dies by both Hornady New Dimension and the LEE Dies  with those @#$%%! decapping/expander rods. Someone figured it would be cheaper not the thread the pins but use a compress type setup to keep the stem in place.

BULLCRAP !!I've had to spot weld the rod in place on a Hornady Die 'cause it didn't matter how much I torqued it down it still pulled out when expanding the case.
My latest purchase from Lee did the same. I took some fine sandpaper and roughed up the stem  and then torqued that sucker in using a couple of hefty crescent wrenches. Time will tell.

Anybody else use either of the two and has the same problem. I lube the inside grudgingly with mica

I don't know if you realize this, but black text on a gray background is pretty hard to read. ;)

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

I.m not sure we can change the background color. My screen shows white text on a blackboard.
Yep, the Hornady Dies were in 243 Win which I had to spot weld. I got three .243 Win Dies  and a bunch of brass now and not one rifle in that cartridge.
I had ordered the Axis in 243 Win and decided I don't need a needle bullet rifle and changed the order to 308 Win. which should be here next week.

Once I feel better, the snowing stops and it gets less arctic I will try "her" out.
