I have to agree on the yellow-orange dot. You'd have a pretty decent hit there and a good chance to hit a lung or the heart.

I'd probably try the yellow-orange dot. Wouldn't scoff at the red either.

How many would try a head shot?

If the deer was turned 3 inches more to the left, I'd take the red dot shot or none at all.

I'd go for the red to account for bullet drop, only if using a heavy bullet, green for a lighter bullet.Plus most guys sight in at 100 yards, not 150.My '06,the red for sure.I use 165 or 180 grain bullets so drop is a factor. If I was using a .270 with a 140 grain,I'd go green.

Red dot.....No Trailing! ;D

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

Aim so the bullet hits at either the red or yellow dot.   depending on where you have your rifle zeroed and what you are shooting....

So put the slug at the yellow or red.
a country boy can survive!

Got pics???
