smoked doves
« on: January 27, 2013, 11:00:44 PM »
simple and delicious.

pluck the breasts out, rinse.
wrap each breast in thick cut bacon.
use toothpick to keep bacon on breast
smoke them all till bacon is done.

way better than fried doves, and the bacon prevents the juice from xcaping so they r not dry.

cant remember, but we used apricot or plumb tree wood in the smoker all season..

it tastes like God's version of filet mignon.

I may have to try this this year.  Gonna have to put out the sunflowers again and see if I can actually get the time to hunt over them this year.  ;)

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

That, or swing by GP's petting zoo and "borrow" a few live ones from him.  ;D

We've used mesquite and that adds to the taste.

The operative word here is BACON!  O0 O0
To you gutless cowards and scumbags, who are trying to lie and rewrite history. To those out to commit genocide on the Southern people with your destruction of Confederate monuments and your attacks on Southern heritage and pride. Be happy for now. Because someday when that civil war you wanted starts. I will find you. And I will kill you.

Bacon makes most anything better.  O0   If not "combined", definitely on the side.  >:D
