I use it all the time on the handgun range and if I'm using a rifle with iron sights. It's like anything else, the more you shoot, the better you get and the easier it becomes.
I see this as more of an issue for self defense than hunting. when hunting we want to take our time and make the shot count for a clean and quick humane kill.
If you're dealing with an armed intruder or assailant, this is where practice and training pay off. You're able to draw, point and shoot. We've been taught since we were little to point a shotgun, but always aim a rifle. If you spend a lot of time just bringing the rifle or handgun into play and covering center mass, you are aiming the rifle, by pointing it. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense. It didn't when I was being taught too. Still give it a try and you'll see that before long, you'll be doing it without even thinking.
