'Citizens Self-Defense Act' Introduced In Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C.óMaryland Republican Rep. Roscoe Bartlett introduced a bill in Congress last week that aims to protect the right of Americans to use firearms in self-defense inside their homes.

House Resolution 47 (HR 47), the "Citizens' Self-Defense Act," would protect the right of citizens to use handguns, rifles and shotguns when defending themselves, their families and/or their homes.

HR 47 has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.

Great idea! One advantage, if you blast an invader, some local or state over eager lawman can't drag you off to jail for defending yourself in your home. A federal law would prevent local or state laws to conflict with the federal law, guaranteeing your protection. I imagine it would therefore protect you from being sued by a home invader, if he would survive. People have been sued by home invaders that were wounded by homeowners.
