Why do you hunt? We all have our reasons.

when i was little my dad used to take me out with him and i would sit in his lap and we would wait for the sun came up so we could Hunt  bushy tails. Looking up into the trees and seeing the dark silhouette of a squirrel and then putting the crosshairson its head, and watching it fall. me and my dad would walk over to it and he would tell me to pick it up and put it in my game carrier. we would do that all morning .Now my dad cant hunt any more he was involved in a car accident , and now he lost all use of his legs. he says looking at our old pictures and watching hunting on Saturday mornings in his camo is the same, But when i look in to his eyes as he is watching the TV, I know a little piece of him has died.I Hunt because my dad cannot, i hunt because there is nothing my dad loves more than when I tell him me and my son just bagged our limit, on a cold fall day in the woods

We hunt because it's in our blood! It's also why our eyes are in front of our head instead of on the side, like deer, rabbits, S-Q-U-I-R-R-E-L-S, and the rest of prey animals.  I imagine all of us here had a parent or parents that took us hunting when we were young. Who would want to spoil a family tradition, anyhow? most of LIKE to hunt, even love it. My passion is squirrel hunting, and y'all will have to pick up my slack for the other critters. Age has something to do with this: if you aren't able to drag out a deer by yourself, what's the use of shooting one? I had a serious spinal injury that put me into the small game only hunting lifestyle, but I'm not complaining. I'm glad I can still hunt! :) :) :) :)

Nothing wrong with concentrating all efforts on small game, John. I love the flavor of a good venison steak, but I've never hunted deer. I may one of these days, but right now I'm content to hunt bunnies and tree rats and plan for a hog hunt.

I will bet everyone here had a lot of ancestors that hunted and gathered for daily living and survival.  Acuually, it wasn't that many years ago, either.  I can't forsee predator instinct being completely bred out of  the human race. We are what we are, only we are the ones proud of it. PETA folks are fooling themselves, which seems to be easy for such examples of human frustrations. Yep, we all  are born meat eaters, so why fight it, huh?  I am gonna go fix myself a big ham sandwich right now, and not worry about some phoney stuffed shirt forcing down some nasty  :-P tofu.
