I'm not sure if I can send you anything, what with the laws regarding animal parts, etc., coming from Canada to the U.S.A. Check it out and let me know. What about deer and moose horns. Any use for that stuff?

Hey Trax,

It is better not to send anything to the states. You gotta have a ton of paperwork, etc.. to ship across the border (people typically use a broker). Import and export permits, customs papers, blah blah blah. There are people that get away with it...but there is a hefty fine if you get busted.  *not to mention she is in CA, and they have stiff regulations on posession of illegal parts (deemed by their state, whether it was taken legally elsewhere or not).

***NOTE: I am NOT trying to discourage any sale/gifting, etc.. Just please be aware that the laws for the state/country you are shipping something TO..also applies to the seller, even if you do not live in that area! Shipping something legal in your state to an area where it is illegal is a federal offense covered by the Lacy Act.***

I am just trying to keep everyone safe...i had to go through all this mess when i first started selling furs and parts nationally.  Just make sure you are shipping something legal to a state where it is legal for them to buy..then no one gets into trouble.

Thanks for the info guys. I didn't really have a hankering to meet some guy named "bubba" and spend the rest of my life in a 8' x 8' cell "bonding"...................... ;D ;D ;D . I guided some guys from Germany a few years back and was going to give one of the fellas an old set of moose horns to take back. After checking into it, through a broker, I found it was more hassle than it was worth. Needless to say the fellow was pretty dissapointed.

Hey MOSPARKY...  you do bring up a good point...  here they promote KS to moderator,  but we find out that he has been showing mercy to the enemy, and is now raising and harboring cats....

Just out of curiosity GP.. who did you put in charge of the background checks for the panel of moderators???

??? Now, HOLD YOUR HORSES, fellas. Just because I have cats doesn't mean I harbor them. Let me explain. When moving into my new house, the previous owners had a fully trained and papered German Shorthair that they had to get rid of. They tried selling her... no luck. They tried giving her away... no luck. Finally, as they're getting ready to leave, they tell me they're going to put her into the pound before they go. So, I throw a hissy-fit and work a deal with my wife for the dog. She hates dogs, I dislike cats. The deal was I can have the dog if she can have a cat. She didn't think I'd agree to it, but I readily did, much to her dismay. So, a couple weeks later, she comes home with a box. Is it a cat? No... it's 2 cats. Even though she swears they're both boys, she's wrong. They're both girls. So, once they're old enough, we find out that the local stray is gonna be a daddy. >:( They both end up pregnant at the same time and I end up with 2 full grown cats and 8, yes 8 kittens. 10 cats to my 1 dog... >:( I'm finally down to 2 cats and 2 kittens. I'm working on the others, but I'll let you know when the others "run away."

My wife's reading this over my shoulder and is now saying that she's gonna join the group so she can be MY moderator. ???

I got snookered into getting a cat also.  Supposedly, "The Boy" just couldn't bear to see the poor little thing freezing to death, so they brought it home.  The one good point about the whole deal is that he terrorizes the cat!!!!!  Chases her around the house with a pop gun shooting at her.  I've been using the cat as a teaching tool about how to "hunt" and sneak. In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

Nobody can deny that you're a true sprotsman, BC. Seriously though, that's a great idea, having the kid mimic the cat (which is a natural stalker anyway) to learn his hunting skills. I may have to implement that tactic. O0
