What'cha been eatin'?

What the strangest critter you've eaten before?  About the only off the wall thing that I've had is gator.  (wasn't too bad - a little tough).  What about the rest of you?  Anything good out there that we've been missing?   (Sorry John, carp doesn't count!  hehe   )

I've had gator tail.  It was good!  Kind of a cross between turtle and frog legs.

I've had coon, 'possum, groundhog, and muskrat.  The groundhog and the muskrat were the best.  The coon and 'possum were kinda' greasy!  Rattlesnake is really good!  Talk about some good white meat!  I caught a freshwater eel on a turtle line one time.  Cleaned it up and ate it.  It was good while it was hot, but wasn't worth a crap heated up! :(
The only purpose of bread is to hold meat!

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

Gutpiles, I will save some of my carp for you! And, you are supposed to kill and cook the 'gator before you eat it!   I have eaten just about everything edible, maybe the most unusal is rattlesnake. It is good, too. I used to hunt them here until they got on the protected list. Dang!

The ones I would recommend are rattlesnake and turtle (soup), and goat.
Rattlesnake is the best of all.

The ones that made me queasy are racoon, possum, and...Spam (that would probably fall under "rat meat"...lol)

I am with you on the 'possum! Not even! I heard of a good way for groundhog. The secret is, gut them as soon as you kill them. Not 15 minutes after, but right away.
