I thought Calelas bought Gander Mountain some years back and did away with the Gander Mountain name. I liked it when it was Gander Mountain , the pricing was better.

I go to Gander Mtn. , and Cabella's and Bass pro and have even been to Dick's but prefer to deal with a couple of local shops for most of my stuff because all the others are a 1 to 4 hour drive.I have found that I get nearly as good a deal at home, and am supporting the local economy by making most of my purchases here.Plus if we don't support these guys they can't maintain their business so we have the close to home shop to make a quick run to for emergency gotta have it right now stuff. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a trip to the Big Boys they always have some things you just can't always lay your hands on locally,I just prefer to do the majority of my shopping with the home town boys

I have never been to those stores you listed. I have done a lot of my shopping at small family owned stores and pawnshops. Some at Wally world, too. Doing business at a private owned shop is more fun, though. Especially the horse trading and haggling. I do have to admit, I am a pro at "horse trading". :) :)

In less than an hour, I could be at Cabelas, Gander Mountain, Dick's, or Walmart.  If I need something quick, Gander or Dick's, both about a 10 minute drive.  If I have the time and need a lot of stuff, it's Cabelas; 1 hour drive.  I refuse to set foot in Walmart.  Most of local Mom & Pop Shops (of all types) closed down after Walmart came to town -  Cabelas, Gander, and Dick's came a few year later.
I have long know that it is part of God's plan for me to spend a little time with each of the most stupid people on earth.

I see you're playing stupid again...  looks like you're winning too.

Gander Mtn usually.. they're about 15 min away...  walmart for ammo...  And when I head up to WI to see the inlaws, I stop at bass pro and drool.
