When we were first engaged she said she would never allow a gun in the house.I told her that was gonna be rough on our marriage, her livin at her mothers and all.
Then she tagged along when some buddies and I went out plinking. She deciced we were having too much fun and asked for a turn. She was hooked on shooting ever since. Then after two yrs of marriage I fixed a venison pot roast. When I came home the next night looking forward to some left-overs all there was ,was veggies and potlikker,NO MEAT!! She had some for lunch and still says she didn't know she took the last of the meat.Next I brought home some squirrel and fried it.That sealed the deal, she's deffinately an eyes forword carnivorous predator now. After four years of marriage she announced she wanted her own shotgun and decided on a mossberg 500 in 20 ga.Should have heard the mother outlaw scream about that one.She just knew I bought it for myself.Such a selfish....well you know.
Took her out squirrel hunting the next week-end she popped two nice chubby little grays and said "yeah ,they're cute , but all I could think was ....DINNER!!!!"
She won't clean'em but as long as she puts some on my plate I don't mind.

my wife thinks i'm crazy too, but she's generally fine with anything that gets me out of the house and away from her.  I work weekday, she works weekends, so my time is pretty much limited (i gotta watch our 11 month old weekends), but she even lets me skip work every once in a while to go shed hunting.  I guess i'm pretty lucky cause instead of fighting it, she's now got a bow and wants to hunt this fall.  It helps having her stepdad being a outdoors nut too.  When i gotta go visit the inlaws, it's pretty much me just dropping her and my son off at her moms, then grabbing her stepdad and heading to the woods/archery range.  My life is pretty good.

The woman doesn't mind, I was hunting before we met, and she has even gone to the range with me a few times....  she won't hunt, and she said she might try some of the stuff I bring home....  I'll get her hookes sooner or later!

Round here during deer season she's affectionatly known as the " Huntin widow". She seems to understand it. Go do your Guy thing she says. I disappear for a week at a time but she's always got me a nice hot bath drawn when I get home. Sweet thang she is.  ^-^Hey you dont recon she's tryin to say I stink do you?

My wife said she'll not eat anything I bring home unless it has wings and I do all the prep. I even had to convince her that shooting squirrels in season wouldn't do anything to the population and that they only mated during the off season.  Then I found out our off season is only 3 months long. YIPEE!!!  :D
