South Carolina Airport Using Bowhunters To Clear Airfield
« on: February 21, 2004, 07:07:33 AM »
ANDERSON, SC—The persistent threat of deer interfering with planes at South Carolina's Anderson Regional Airport has prompted officials to invite experienced bowhunters to help cull the herd to a more manageable number.

Airport officials say a 4-foot-high hogwire fence hasn't stopped deer from venturing onto airport grounds from a wooded area surrounding the airfield on state Highway 24.

An arrangement with the South Carolina Bowhunters Association allows hunters to kill both male and female deer until a management goal has been reached. Public safety officers are allowed to hunt with guns.

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.
