Scouting camera flash?
« on: October 31, 2005, 09:35:25 PM »
Does a regular flash on a scouting camera scare deer?  Just curious because with all the marketing about flash and dash I bought a Bushnell that has an inferred flash.  But i soon found out that it does not work very well unless the deer are about 5 feet away.  So for kicks I turned on the regular flash for a week and wa-la I could see all the deer very clear.  They did not look spooked to me?????  Interested in others thoughts.

Hmmmmm

I have never found a spooked looking animal on camera, had a few ring tail noses, even a tree rat belly. I did have a a creature that was spooked by my camera on private land, he had a badge on his mchest though. Cuahg tin action i think was the look he had.
