Down here people live trap cats all the time. All it takes is some red-neck riggin..LOL

If you don't want to buy a live trap, you can make one. All you need is medium gauge welded wire (with small squares), some springs and a couple pieces of scrap steel. Make a box outta the wire, with one large section (for the cat) and one small section (for the chicken). Use the pieces of steel for a foot-plate for them to step on that releases another piece of steel to cover the door.

Put a bantem rooster in the small part (with a partial bucket for shelter, food and water) set the foot petal and let 'er rip. The rooster will crow, and this calls the cat into the box. For added scent, if you do shoot a few cats drain the urine from the bladders and sprinkle around the trap site.

Hope this helps,
LadyT

noooo kidding!! then again i basically did the same thing for catching a wild born domestic cat out of the back yard, used a bunny pen that was steel mesh, a carborator spring from a chevy 350, a stick and a can of tuna. meow walked into cage to get tuna knocked stick and spring slammed door closed.. now the cat follows the boy around EVERYWHERE and refuses to go back outside!!

If anyone is interested in getting that book "Camp Life In The Woods & Tricks of Trapping", I did a search on Amazon.com.  They've got them on there from $5 up to $10.36.  Here's a link to the page:  http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=stripbooks:relevance-above&field-keywords=camp%252520life%252520in%252520the%252520woods%252520and%252520tricks%252520of%252520trapping&search-type=ss&bq=1&store-name=books/ref=xs_ap_sai1_xgl14/103-1608722-8038201

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

I already got that book.  I also mentioned it in an earlier post.  Well worth the money.  O0
