I recently recieved a 22 rifle that was sold as a "Romanian military training rifle".  It shoots 22 lr, and has an interesting rear sight.  it has three blades that are labeled 25, 50 and 100.  not sure if it stands for yards or meters, but I am guessing meters...  the one labeled 25 is fixed, 50 and 100 can be flipped up slightly raising the elevation for the rear sight.  I have shot it a little, and it it a very nice rifle.  smooth light trigger, light gun and fairly accurate as far as I can tell...  Here's my questions... to adjust the front sight for elevation, it needs a tool close to an AR-15 front sight tool.  I was wondering if anyone had seen anything advertised for the romanian...  I would also appreciate any info that anyone has on history of these rifles or tips and tricks... ect...

thanks in advance.

Hey FireKidd -  sounds like a pretty nice little rifle.  Is this it?  If so it's a Romanian M69.  Check it out:

YES THAT IS IT!!!  Thank you.. all I could get out of people around here is "I know a guy who has one and he likes it...." no other info.
it is a very nice rifle... I am having a little trouble with the ammo feeding, but I know what is causing it an I will work on it soon, you can hand load one by one and it shoots very well, light rifle, but it is balanced so the recoil is straight back, no muzzle flip at all... ( a small problem I have noticed with my savage....)

I checked the link... I will have to send out for the manual...  it is pretty easy to disasemble and clean, but it would still be nice to have some background, ect.
anyone here have one??

That sure is a fine looking rifle. I have a fondness for military rifles, anyhow. Mauser made some .22s, also.

I didn't know that mauser made any rimfires.... how much do they run for, and where are they sold???

I have a 98 in 8mm... got it at the same time actually...  I took it out a little, shot a few rounds... not bad, I need to sit down with it and see what kind of groups I can get with it...

Firekidd, I really don't know. They were made years ago for training rifles, I think for German military.
