Ice fishing ...
« on: January 28, 2006, 09:42:54 PM »
Has anyone been out ice fishing???  I've been out a couple times but no real luck.  March in usually the best ice fishing up here if the ice is still good.  I LOVE crappie fishing!  I could crappie fish all day every day in March.  My little guy loves fish in the morning.  He's probadly the only kid in daycare walking in eating crappie in the morning.  Here's a pix of the other half and the little guy with a 39" northern.

The weather up here has been really warm lately.  It sucks for the tourist industy and the logging industry.  The loggers can't get the wood out of the woods right now because nothings frozen.  Hopefully it will turn cold soon.  I prefer snow over these ice showers we keep gettting.

A friend of mine went once . Brought home a thousand pounds of ice. The really sad part was that his wife died trying to fry it.

I tried ice fishing twice. All I got was cold feet. I decided the next time I go ice fishing, all I will need is a hole in the ice big enough to slide 3 sticks of dynamite into.  ;D ;D ;D

...Being a guy who was born and raised in south Florida I've never had the chance to ice fish. I did see the most halarious video "fishing with John" an episode where two fellows went ice fishing. They got into a blizzard, were out there for days on end,ran out of food, fire gave out about the time they were bout froze to death with it. Ended up the both of them froze solid! It was  really one of the funniest shows i've ever seen, even though it sounds tragic...I can't imagine those fish from freezing water putting up much of a scrap...
