Jeff I agree, the family would probably want other things to do.theres always 4 wheeling ,wave running on black lake, tubbing, swimming, paint gun fights for the kids and grown ups .always something to do in the great outdoors.canoe trips down the black river.

Ya know, MOSPARKY, Big Papa, and I might just have to find someplace to have this here shindig. Last year, I just couldn't find anyplace that could house all of us and be willing to put up with the sight of Morax's minivan... 'poke' 'poke'. Just kiddin there Morax... I had a minivan once, until my wife made me get rid of my hotwheels collection.

I'll do a little research this next week and post a sticky on what I find.

You should have it in kansas it is the center of the country and great hunting and fishing.  We have a rabbit overpopulation 10's the bag limit.  Theres a lake and hunting land about 2 miles from my place.  Just making a suggestion.

We could always make it a semi-annual thing. I found the info for the guy in KS who has the severe tree rat problem on his pecan orchard. And remember, he's buddy-buddy with the local conservation officer and said he could get the depredation permits easily enough. We could do that one in early to mid August when the pecans get to that point where the squirrels go crazy over them. Hogs, on the other hand, would be best suited to MO, OK, or TX for the simple numbers of them. OK requires you to have a hunting liscense and permit for whatever season it may be, which could get expensive. MO has a statute in their regs stating that it is every hunters duty to massacre any feral hogs they see, and by whatever means necessary. Now TX, I don't know their regs, but perhaps longfisher could do some research for us.

Ks.....You sound like the man with the plan!!! O0  I nominate Ks_Sniper to coordinate this here shindig and "Git R Done"!  Do I hear any seconds on my montion?????

eddiejohn4, your invite sounds really good, but three things come to mind.  1) You're a little far north for most of our Southern and SW folks; 2) There's not much to hunt in MI during the summer/early fall; 3) You ain't got no PORK up there, do ya????????? O0  Just kidding about the second 2 things, but the first is the main thing.  It wouldn't be that far for me (since I'm in KY), but a lot of the folk from AL, GA, and FL would have one heck of a trip, not to mention any people that are in TX or OK.  See what I'm saying?  We may still fall back on you if Ks_Sniper "panzies" out on us! ;D

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

I don't really want to go that far north (it's a North vs. South thing.....), but if I have to I will.  The only condition is that I have BEER! O0  And something to kill, even if it's cats (we can try the Indian John's Beer Roasted Cat recipe). O0
