Squirrel Corn Chowder
« on: February 13, 2006, 02:21:45 AM »
Here's one I usually use with bacon (even peperoni will work) but would be great with almost any meats you have left in the freezer.

1lb Squirrel meat (deboned and cut into chunks)
16oz Dehydrated Milk (In the cans)
5 Large Potatoes (peeled & cubed into dice-sized pieces)
4 Cans of Cream Corn
1 Lg Onion (cut up however you like it - I prefer diced)
Broth (optional)
1 Clove Garlic (minced) (optional)

Fry the meat in a pot (I prefer to use my Dutch oven over my gas stove for added flavor) and pick out the meat, leaving the now flavored oil behind. Add onion, garlic, and potatoes to the oil and cover with water or broth. Simmer on med-low, stirring every 7-10 minutes, until tender. Add remaining ingredients, including the fried meat you took out, and simmer 5 minutes.

Mmmm-boy! So good, your tongue will... well, you get the point... O0

P.S. - This can also be a good crockpot recipe.

Sounds good.  I'll have to try it here before too long. O0
The only purpose of bread is to hold meat!

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.
