Dang, sticker!  What you need are some bad habits to go along with all that spare time.  Or at least, go fishing. Nothing to hunt. huh? I am sitting here in my GP shirt thinking of all the things I would be doing if I didn't have to go to work today.  I am headed into the shop shortly, before I have to go to work. I'm lucky, I have knife work to do 24/7, so life here is busy even on off days when it's raining. Right now, it's raining, but it's dry in the shop, of course. I used to make my knives in an old small Model T garage, did it for years. We finally had to build a new one before everything was rusted in the shop. That, or it was going to fall in on my head. Hey, maybe clean your fishing reels, huh?

I know what you mean, normally I can't get away with a thing. Last week the boss was out of town and his second in command was on vacation. That left me to babysit the phones and drool over the new to me, high dollar airpistol I found at the pawnshop. I swear it begged me to shoot it, it really did. and I fought back hard, but that box in the corner of the shop ( the one with the odd 1/2 inch black dot ) kept mocking me and at one point I think it made a face at me. Well I don't have to take that from any block of corrigated paper, so it got shot. Then I said to myself "Self, surly  you can do better than that" of course I can and quit calling me shirley !!
So it got shot again and again and.... you get the point.
Why did I have to work for a living?

Boredom can lead to bad places.

in My spare time, when I cant hunt, I love to just be at the river, bottom fishing, while listening to my small radio...to me it doesnt matter if I catch anything, just getting away from the house for a few hours is better than any type of thing I can do at the house...unless its bed time and the 'ole lady had a couple glasses of wine... O0

Sticker Pt. sound like you need some "home remodeling projects". O0  I've been about to kill my fool self around the house on the weekends doing odds and ends. :'(  Maybe you should get a pressure washer and clean the outside of your house, deck, sidewalks, driveway, etc, etc, etc.  After cleaning it, apply some sealer and driveway coating.  Just for the heck of it, add onto your deck..........or build one if you don't already have one.  Of course, once you do that, you'll need to pour a new/another sidewalk..........

See, there's always something to do to try to kill yourself and make you sore! O0

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

Sticker, that's very interesting! BC has a good point, too.  I'm sure we could suggest some more honey-do projects your wife would be overjoyed to hear.   ;D You must be one of those workaholics, like BC. Fellers like you and BC have an overpowering need to be occupied. Me, I try to avoid such afflictions. Even with my skills of avoiding honey-do chores during valuable fishing and hunting time, I still haven't been fishing this year.  :'( Maybe GP can offer some advice for us. Maybe not. His wife is probably adding to his honey-do list as we speak.   ;D That's what you get for being one of those "model husbands" and having one of those sneaky and crafty wifes sneaking a peek over your shoulder while you type here. OOOOPS! I just got busted by mine!  I gotta go, she is telling me about the yard........................ .
