Field Point vs Broadhead Impact Points
« on: August 17, 2006, 02:15:56 PM »
Okay, as you all have read several times now, I bought the new compound bow.  With the previous one, I used mechanical heads that flew and hit in the exact same place as my field points.  I am now considering going to Fixed Blade Broad Heads.  I read an article on this quite a while back, but if your field points and broadheads do not have the same point of impact, how do you syncronize them?

From what I can recall, you were supposed to twist the "Y" stings certain ways to raise or lower the impact points until they matched.  I haven't started this yet, but figured I might ask and do some reasearch before it gets to late.

Another question: other than Slick Trick, does any other broad head manufacturer guarantee their heads to fly exactly like your field point?  (Anyone on here shoot Slick Tricks yet?)
I have long know that it is part of God's plan for me to spend a little time with each of the most stupid people on earth.

I see you're playing stupid again...  looks like you're winning too.

if you go to the easton website they have an arrow tuning guide you can download which is very informative for doing what your doing as far as impact points. pretty much all the expandable heads hit where the feild points do the sonic heads arwe supposed to fly and hit where field points hit but that rarely happens.  check out that website i'm sure it will help.

Sonic broadheads are supposed to fly like field points. Their website is
http://www.americanbroadhead.com/. If you go there they are running a promotion and giving away a free broadhead.

Well, I think I may have made up my mind.  I am going to try a little of both.

I am deciding between these Meachanical Broadheads...

G5 Outdoors, TEKAN-II Mechanical Broadheads
http://www.g5outdoors.com/Products/ProductDetail.aspx?productid=2

New Archery Products, Spitfire XP Pro Series, Mechanical Braodheads
http://www.newarchery.com/

I am definitely getting a set of Slick Trick 100 Fixed Blade Broadheads

Just an update...

They had requests for over 11,000 broadheads, and stopped the free broadhead promotion.
