we need firekidd back for this one. anyone seen him around? what about mallard drake?

Haven't seen much from firekidd lately.  As for Mallard Drake..........he went the way of the Do-Do.....

I'm in favor of 1 man teams.  I hate relying on someone else for something (like pulling their own weight).  Also, just an opinion, but there should probably be 2 categories.  One for rifles and one for the 'cheaters' who use shotguns! ;D  I know early in the season when the leaves are still on, I could get my limit every time I went out if I had a shotgun, but I hate picking the shot out of the little buggers, and it's just not that much of a challenge for me if I use a shotgun.

Not sure when our season opens up here, but I'm interested in joining the frey!

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

We have a good season for Squirrel in Illinois.
Squirrel hunting with my bow is a favorite past time for me.

i just moved from central illinois and they extended the squirrel season from jan to march. that`s 8 extra weeks i`m missing out on.the squirrel pop. has gone up tremendously. no one really hunted them. this year you have all the deer hunters claiming they will go after deer season. we`ll see LOL!!

The Squirrel (Fox and Grey) Season dates in Illinois are from August 1st til February 15th. It is now almost 5 1/2 months.
I love it. Now I can squirrel hunt when I am out looking for sheds.

I don't like biting down on a piece of shot!  I don't have to worry about that with the .17.

Ain't no body going to dock you for being safe.  That's what it's partly about..........having fun and being safe.  I still think that there should be 2 categories though, rifle and shotgun.  The shotguns have the advantage early in the season, rifles later in season.  If there's enough interest, then there could also be a category for "shoot what ya' brung"........basically a combination of rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, dynamite, snares, etc.

I like that because I like to change guns throughout the year.  I don't want to be stuck with one choice all year.  I might also want to use some dynamite. :) ;)
Don't feel bad.....  We can't all be #1.
