A quick search for 17 remington on gunbroker.com turned up several. They seem to start round about $600 and go up from there. But, they do have a burnout problem still. If you gotta have a .17, go with an HMR or an HM2. If you want a round that travels over 4Kfps, go with a 220 Swift. Same speeds, bigger bullets.

.220 huh...you mean .17 is supreme  ;D ;D

no seriously that .17 remington price, like andrews said, made my brian go whizbang! the thought of creeping around central in quickly subsided when i saw that  ;D ;D i`m sticking with the hmr and hm2

One of my gunsmith pals, Al Buren, used to shoot a Rem .17 and offered it to me for a really decent price. I declined, so he sold it and bought himself a new Savage .204 bolt action with the Accu Trigger. It's a real varmint terminator, but is hard on the ears. You shoot a .204, you better wear ear protection.
