6-18 x 40, would be my choice.  That would look great on a .17.
I have long know that it is part of God's plan for me to spend a little time with each of the most stupid people on earth.

I see you're playing stupid again...  looks like you're winning too.

go for the high power. that would be insanity to dial in a squirrels ear hole at 150 yards.

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

thanks for the help. AB how does the scope look say 25-75 yards? are things way too big? like i said i want a yote scop and late season squirrel. i do want to put it on and try it out in early season for squirrel. is it a waste of time being you can`t see anything that close up?

Those are the exact ranges that I normally use my socpe for..  Picture quality is fine and field of view is more than ample.  I have the multi dot reticle, was able to use it to make shots on prari dogs out to 200yards with zero at 75, and also shoot mice at 15 yards.  Should be a great setup for the coyotes and late season squirls.
