Ducks

I have 2 small whole puddle ducks (widgeons) and I'm in dire need of suggestions on how to cook 'em.  I don't trust e-recipies as much as you guys, so have at it!  :)

ya just knew that this would get my attention, didnt ya? i breast em out, cut em into bite size peices, wrap em in bacon, and throw em on the grill. dont grill em too long. i also have marinated them in spices for a few days, my favorite is duck commander spicy, worchester sauce, and a little tony cacheres, and grill em. if you have had them since duck season, i wouldnt try em in a crockpot or in a soup or casserole or anything. its good in chili, and burritos, too.

Those all sound good, but I'd like to cook the whole thing.  For the grill recipie, can i just quarter it and do the same thing with the bacon, or is that a waste of bacon/time?

i guess you could try it. maybe try wrappin it in foil, and puttin the bacon in with it. the idea behind the bacon is to add moisture, and take away the gamey taste.

I cut it up too and wrap it in bacon.  I usually marinate it in a red wine for a day.

Now THERE'S an idea. Take the duck, wrap it in bacon, stuff the body cavity with some veggies or maybe some pineapple chunks, wrap the whole thing in foil and throw it on a fire. Cook for a couple of hours and there you go... Man... I just ate and that still makes me salivate. ;D
