All I've ever used were fixed blade.  I haven't bowhunted since they've improved the expandables like they have, so I can't really say good or bad about them.

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

I have always had real good luck with the "Ace Standard 160 Grain and the 145 Grain". They are a two blade with a very strong cut on contact point. I keep them razor sharp. I always get great penetration with excellent flight with them.

You can use Grim Reapors open as broadheads. I'll post pics of the contact point in foam. UNREAL....

I use the First Cut expandable blade and have had great success. I killed an 8-point last season and a 5 point the season before. Both deer went down within 30 yards of the shot.
Tree hugging is okay, as long as you are climbing up to your tree stand.
