In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

This thread started out pretty good, and then started downhill really fast! ;D  I just don't want anyone to get carried away with posting something they probably shouldn't. O0

If anyone does get a little carried away, the standard punishment of Plott and Onestone staying with you will be imposed!

John , I don't doubt that  it's a great round and plenty capable in the right hands  O0  Me and the " old 22 mag round" have been together so long.........it would be like cheatin on my wife  ;D For the style of huntin I do , I wouldn't ever utilize the improved trajectory the 17 has to offer .
