Welcome aboard Al!!  We've got another member from Australia that stops by from time to time - AussieJoe.  You should drop him a pm, he could probably point you in the right direction for some hunts.

If you don't mind me asking, how the heck did you end up that far from home?

I was looking at changing jobs so i was having a look on Monster.com and came across a job in my field of work, sent them a copy of my resume , they like what they seen  so they flew to Atlanta to interview me.
That was in January 06 , they then flew my wife and out to Melbourne for 2 weeks and we struck  deal for a large amout of money and here we are.  Gutpiles that is it in a nut shell,  It was not as easy as it sounds but I dont want to write a novel here.  We are not staying here forever but not sure when were coming home either.  I told my 12 year old we would stay 2 years but that is coming up next April and I dont think Im going to be done with the job by then.  But Im getting home sick myself so I may have to come home for Thanksgiving and get in my fix of duck hunting.    BTW  I dont care for eating Roo, You can buy it in store here like chicken , we feed it to the dogs though.

Glad to have you Al.  As Gutpiles said, send Aussie Joe a PM.  He hunts all the time over there, and if nothing else, he may be able to hook you up with a "loaner" gun to use. O0

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.
