Need help!!! Advice on a good climber....
« on: December 21, 2007, 12:29:47 PM »
All,

I'm in the market for a good climber well suited for bowhuntin. It must be able to accomdate 300+ lbs. And if I can keep it around $250 bucks, that will be great. Anything in mind? ???

Try Wallyworld, they usually have the best prices around here on them.

Summit stands are some of the best on the market.  The only bad thing about them is that they're a bit on the heavy side.  Gorilla makes a good climber as well.  Ameristep makes some good stands also, and are reasonably priced.

With all of that being said, check out the Sportsman's Guide (www.sportsmansguide.com) for stands.  Here's a link to their treestand area - http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/browse/browse.aspx?c=120&dc=1170

I bought one off of there a few years ago to replace one I had stolen.  Mine is a Guide Gear (Sportsmans Guide brand), but I saw the exact same stand in a store.  It is an Ameristep.

Old Man tree stands (if they're still around) are also decent stands, but they're a little cramped for my big butt! ;D

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

Summit all the way. Great product and you can't beat their customer service either.
