Action at the Gut Pile
« on: January 20, 2008, 12:01:33 PM »
I'll be the first to admit, I know little about bears.  However, I never would have imagined this.  The info sections of this video says it's a week of activity at a deer gut pile.  (Just goes to show you, there's always action at The Gut Pile!   )

For our bear chasers - is this type scavenging a common thing?

Seems that the bears don't care for the camera. ;D

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

Bears are scavengers especially for meat .

Thats cool that first bear was real skiddish it was either looking for people or more likely other bigger bears. That cinnamon bear was cool looking too nice rug  ;D  Thats must be a natural game crossing with the deer and elk there too

well you said you was on a plane so i figured you would be gone for awhile.. after two catastrophic crashes on the pc, i think i am back up and running again, lost my write out list, but the ones that come to mind is why were they going for the camera so much, human smell on it? and whats with the cinnamon color, is it a phase or a whole different bear sub species?  i figure you would be the one to ask these kinda ?? to...

Black bears vary in color. Cinnamon is a honey/blonde color of black bear, and not as common as the blacks, of course. I have taken one large bear, a cinnamon.
