TURKEY CONTEST
« on: February 23, 2008, 11:34:03 AM »
OK folks here's what we have got so far:

*  Number of people on each team will be determined based upon the number of people that enter.

*   Only 1 score per person can be submitted for the biggest bird (weight)

*   Multiple birds per person can be entered, but all of the birds for that person will be added together and averaged to obtain the score that will be entered for that person in the team total.

*   Score will be a combined measure of the beard length, and both spurs.  If turkey has multiple beards or spurs, those will also count in the score.

*  Pictures must be taken of the bird with a tape measure showing the beard length and spur lengths.  Pictures must also be taken of the bird on a set of scales (fishing scales are OK).

*  Pictures must be posted within 3 days of harvest.  No pictures, no entry.

*  Contest will run until the end of May.

*  Prizes will be awarded to the team that has the largest combined score.

I'm also going to see if we can give away a prize for the largest "scored" turkey and the largest weight, but we'll have to see what the "prize fund" jar looks like. O0

If you want to sign up for the contest, post it here, as well as any questions or suggestions for the rules.

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.
