pick up a 20 or 12 gauge.......20 can do most things a 12 gauge can and it is lighter, kicks less, has lot of ammo available just about everywhere[unike the 16 or 410]and it is my first choice for squirrels.

Big Papa. I know exactly which gun you're talking about at Dick's Sporting Goods. DON'T BUY IT!!! I bought it myself and sold it a couple months later. Even in the .410, it's gonna knock you on your hinney. I got the 20 ga with mine and it kicked as hard as my grandfathers old .444 marlin, if you can imagine that. The gun is just to light to be used much, and the company has the absolute worst customer support and WILL NOT make any modifications/upgrades to it. That means no trigger work, porting, replacing sights/beads, nothin. ROSSI will never make another red penny off of me!!!

  Umm... and that's all I have to say about that.

  Isn't that the way it is... We've got a couple squirrels around my house, but I wouldn't dare shhot 'em. Reasons being that my dog likes to chase them all over the neighborhood and I'm hoping she'll become a real squirrel hound. Other reason being that my wife would put MY hide on a stretcher. She loves the little varmints, and though I'm rather fond of them myself, that doesn't seem to stop me from collecting one here and there.

410 will work just fine you might have to use a lil bit a bigger load but ya it will kill squirrels although I would recomened a 20, 28 gauge I use a 20 with 7 1/2 shot it's a lil small but it takes em down if you are using a 20 I would use a #4-5 shot.

I would go super full choke with either #4 shot or lower maybe even a #2 you can get a lil farther back then but you will accually need to aim though  but you will beat up some squirrels :knuppel2 good luck O0
