oh man lets see been hunting far too long to count years back.. 

make a mess cleaning at least one every season..  club one to death yep a couple every season, usually use the gun butt or my boots to the noggin..

my biggest problem is figureing what to make with them after the fact, add them to the scetty sauce, or stews, or fried up or off the habatchi grill...

at 20 yards yeah you would hit him even a bit further too, take your shotty out and sit up a few sheets of paper or a sheet of freezer paper (a couple foot square) and pattern your gun to see where and how far away gives you the best pellet pattern, then this way if ya shoot another you can put the consentration closer to its head...
when in doubt shoot twice

Oh that's a good idea setting up some papers to shoot.  I'll have to do that.
I just had that thing for dinner tonight.  I fried him up and ate it on a cheeseburger.  It was delicious!  I ate the heart too and I was expecting it to be really tough and full of valves and stuff, but actually it was a good piece of meat. O0

yeh sometimes i carry a 22 cal co2 pistol if im on a mission with the shotgun. I just hate having to actually step on the squirrel's head if it's still alive, the sound is disturbing. A quick plink does the job.

BTW what shotgun do you use?

Roll the pieces in some seasoned flour and slowly put in an iron skillet with peanut oil heated to about 200 degrees.  When one side gets brown, flip it over.  It's so good, it'll make your tongue slap your brains loose! :D

You can also eat the liver and kidneys in addition to the heart. O0  If you're really into it, clean the head up, taking the eyes out, and fry the head.  There's the jaw and neck meat, the tongue, roof of the mouth, and brains. :twisted:  There's actually more meat on a squirrel head than you would think. O0

The only purpose of bread is to hold meat!

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.

I have a Winchester Super X Model 1.

I gotta try frying up a squirrel head next time I get one!
My cousin and I went out last night but didn't see any squirrels.  But we did get a dove though.  I ate it and I must say that dove is excellent! O0
