the spot
« on: October 28, 2008, 08:30:25 PM »
pics of the spot.

It's my little getaway, just a 10 minute walk from the house. Still inside city limits so only get to use a pellet gun, or *cough* subsonic 22lr.   Chock full of squirrels and rabbits though, it never gets hunted sept for me and my daisy.  Only 37 acres, but the pics are just from the camping spot down to "squirrel hill" as it shall be known.

Checked the blinds from last season today. Still a ton of foliage up in the trees, falling leaves constantly. Real noisy with all the leaves. Lots of squirrels were moving about the whole day though, i was just too busy with some monster tree that decided to fall right over the pathway to circle the hill. Tried to nail one but the pellet musta got deflected by all the crap in the way.

There's a big tall-grass meadow on the north side, and then a tree line that seperates it from a real thorney, thick , scrubby spot that teams with rabits. Throw a rock at a pile and they zoom out. Real hard to hit anything till the leaves are all down though , see a bunch but can't get a clean "ethical" shot with a pellet gun inside 80 ft.

Thanks. The only downside is when it rains enough, the creek floods and i can't use it as a hunting trail. Gotta take the long, loud way around to get to the blinds.
