WGH Goes Pheasant Hunting
« on: October 30, 2008, 09:44:20 PM »
KDS Shooting Preserve in Crosswell, MI invited Women Gone Hunting out for a day of shooting birds. The ladies had no idea what to expect......you see some are avid bowhunters; but when it comes to shotguns, well, not all were very experienced. Well now they are hooked...............

They called friends at the local Camo & Lace and invited them to join also. They were all over it; and for a week straight there were phone calls everynight between the 5 girls. Three of them were experienced bird hunters; and two were newbies. When the day finally came, the 5 ladies and their two camera men were off. The hour drive flew by because none of them could stop chattering back and forth.

They arrived at KDS at 9:30 am (after taking a slight detour to watch the bucks and turkeys they passed along the way); and were greeted immediatly by owner Karl and son Steve. Without avail they began talking about WGH as if they had known us for years. They had done their research..........and were very supportive of what WGH is all about. Karl blocked the day out to give the ladies the full support they needed.

While Steve took them into the cabin to show everyone around; Karl left to drop the birds. The cabin had full ammenidies including bunks for overnight visitors. They explained how they offer all kinds of hunts from pheasant to coyote to buck and bear.

Before heading out to find the pheasants the ladies took a bit of practice in at the skeet tour. They were raring to go. Within 10 minutes of walking to the field their dog Lizzy pushed the first bird up to the far left of the line. A loud boom was heard, and the bird was down. DeeDee took the first! Hearts were pumping in amazement and when Lizzy retreived the bird the colors were so beautiful.

The rest of the day flew by with more of the same. By the end of the day the ladies had 14 birds down between the 5 of them. Another unforgettable day in the chapters of Women Gone Hunting!

Our production company will be deciding what hunts will be airing when, but yes, it was filmed.
