Yoo000oo0OOoo!!!!11  How ya doin Luke?  Did you end up getting anything on that youth hunt?  Do you currently own a rifle?

It was crapy rainy and cold on the day of my hunt so I didnt even see a deer. :-P But on our way into the woods we were on a trail and a dog was barking up a storm and me and my dad. :D I went with my dad's 44 magnum, and I go plinking with a 22 LR. Im looking at a .243 or .270 rifles do you guys have any recomendations?

Get a savage and I dont mean JA
It takes patience to break a good hound. Ya gotta be persistent and it helps to be a lil smarter then the dog.

Between the .243 and the .270, I would get the .270. O0  There's just a broader range of critters you can hunt with the caliber.

In all seriousness, the Marlin is a great rifle, too. I own a Model 60, one of the best rifles ever made.
Brownings are nice, but in terms of quality AND accuarcy AND ruggedness, it's hard to beat the Marlin.
California sucks that's it.
